Trinket frowned ever so slightly when the tiger nudged her. She was not used to being touched. It was unpleasant.

She started walking along the beach, dragging her doll behind her, the doll's porcelain feet leaving little trails in the sand. A few drops of blood dripped from her hand and dotted the sand red, though before long the bleeding stopped as the blood began to clot. By the time she returned to the city, she had completely forgotten about the cut, the pain faded, the need to care for her body faded from her mind. Instead she began searching the faces of the people she passed, looking for someone interesting.
She found a man with a worried look in his eyes. She stopped before him. She stared into his eyes. He looked at her nervously. He seemed unsettled by her, for some reason.
