The bird was interesting, but it was the habitat that had captured the merman's attention so completely. He leaned on his trident as he contemplated such a desolate, waterless land that would mean instant death for any of his people - but there was a thrill, too, of being so near to such a dangerous environment, even if it was safely contained within the magical enclosure.
After a while he exhaled a long-held breath and finally tore his eyes away, seeking the next biome along the path and wondering what strange creatures he might see within.
Instead his emerald eyes fell on a small, golden sea panther-like creature standing on the path a little distance away. He tilted his head slowly, his expression calm and serene though a sliver of wary tension moved through his muscles as he recognized a predator. Still, the Celestine was supposed to be a place of peace for all the creatures within, and he trusted Lena's word on that.
Peace, he sent through the Attuned Bond, his mental voice a low, warm rumble like distant summer thunder. Perhaps the feline could understand him... or perhaps it was no true cat at all. Either way, he lost nothing by trying.
