Deimos didn’t even call it hope or optimism, but the burning ichor of seditious fuel in his lungs, in his soul. How they’d encountered other disasters and remained. How they’d countered other measures and stayed. How they’d met the sorrows of war and survived; either by fighting upon mountains or altering into something else entirely. Pathways emerged through either conviction or rebellion, and he could stand in both.
