Melita had suggested that Evie visit the Rainbow Road in her list of intriguing places, and given it was within Torchline and she still had one more day before her skyboat trip back to Halo, Evie had decided to do just that on her last day.
It was a beautiful trip for the first few hours. She had worn her running clothes in anticipation of quite a lot of walking, though her daily jogs were always done in the wee hours of the morning and had already been completed before her arrival. She spent time on her belly watching the rainbows reflect the sky above and the rocks below. Even took a solitary rock to bring home so as not to disturb the environment too much.
Everything went a little sideways when she went to visit the geysers.
Midway through marveling at the spray and eruption, she'd heard a faint sound of distress - one she couldn't parse, though that wasn't surprising given she wasn't native to the region. She had managed to pinpoint it to where she was standing now; a section of rock, clearly newly displaced from the geyser activity that rumbled beneath her feet. Perhaps a den was behind? It was difficult to tell, but Evie was working slowly at the problem, taking away bits of earth with her magic and trying to slowly form structures internally so it wouldn't collapse down on whoever - or whatever - was inside. They hadn't been responding to her voice, but it was too muffled to determine if they were words or cries, especially with the intermittent blasting of the geyser deafening her from behind.
