Preoccupied as she is, all she can do is nod tightly at the request to be careful. She's certainly going to try, but sticking her hand into a hole with something alive inside that is surely terrified isn't exactly the epitome of something that would go on a safety poster. Maybe the one that's crossed out.
With most of the creature - as she is beginning to assume it is - out of the hole, Evie pulls herself backward and uses her heels to help pull the animal free, ending up on her ass but ultimately successful. And staring down at a baby tide jaguar that is covered in dust and debris, nearly smothering the colorful, bioluminescent rosettes all over its body.
"Wha-?" she splutters as the jaguar gets its bearings, blinking dust out of its eyes and staring up at Evie from her lap. And then something touches her mind, and Evie tries to scramble backwards - except there's nothing she can run from when the cub is firmly on her thighs, finally uncurling from its limp position with a tiny mewl. "No, woah, what," she babbles as an entire other consciousness begins to merge with her own, something infantile and a little scared but mostly just relieved. And definitely imprinting.
Evie lifts a hand to grab her head, whining slightly as she tries to adjust to having her thoughts and emotions intruded upon. Seemingly not struggling with adjusting at all, the cub begins to quietly purr and hunkers down in her lap, clearly relieved to have been freed.
