Though the Doubletake had made great efforts to follow in her mother's footsteps, she was still young and naive in many ways. Confident enough to know she could get her feather's back from Anju with one simple call to Daddy #1 or #2, after the recent debacle in Torchline (what are timelines anyway), Flora realized that perhaps it was time to start doing things on her own.
