Her subconscious has become accustomed to Talyson’s presence meaning a security from nightmares, and she needs just one hour of rest to feel like the rest of the evening isn’t insurmountable.
Whether he objects or not, Ru falls asleep there on his shoulder, quiet and tucked into his side as if to hide away from the rest of the world. Their food could wait for them a while longer.
