Oh, so that's how it's gonna play. Koa does his best not to wince as the wooden sword smacks his leg, shaking his head with a feral grin. "What, that mosquito bite?" he taunts in reply, despite knowing full well that Octavius is right, and he's bound to have a lovely bruise blooming by the end of the day.
He's drawn back a little, assumed a more defensive strike. Truth be told, Octavius' hit has unsettled him, made the whole thing a bit more real and made him realize that he may be out of his league. (un)fortunately, the weight of that realization is outweighed by youthful pride: with a shout the Dragoon once more lunges forward, swinging toward his opponent's side.
It's a blow that won't land, unfortunately, as Koa stumbles on an uneven patch of ground. To his credit, the boy is able to turn the mistake into something graceful: he tucks into a somersault as he hits the ground, tucking in before springing up, hoping to catch Octavius unawares with another blow from behind.
