Ok cursed dice Koa, this is getting a bit ridiculous. The frustration that's bubbling in his chest is hot and sharp, and the insult of Octavius' gentle tap hurts worse than any injury. The young man can feel a flush of heat creeping up his neck and cheeks; he's embarrassed, he's ashamed, he's angry, he's sore.
But you know what he isn't? About to give up.
Because for all their difference in skill and station, Koa has something Octavius doesn't have. He swings forward and up, an odd move that might seem almost desperate, distracting in the exaggerated enormity of the motion. "Oops." And though he once again misses with his blade, this time the Dragoon wasn't trying, exactly, to hit, so much as to distract.
Because distraction allows a small serpentine creature to scurry across the training field unnoticed... until, that is, her needle-sharp teeth clamp around Octavius' ankle in a vice-like grip.
That's right girls and boys, Pipsqueak the Flightless Wonder has finally come out to play.
