Octavius
When Koa moves to strike, it isn't as if Octavius doesn't expect it. What surprises him is the sheer speed of the movement, much faster than any of his previous attacks with the sword. Koa's closed fist strikes Octavius square in the jaw, hard enough to make him stumble backwards slightly and turn his head to the side. Pain radiates from the spot, but Octavius has no time to think about it because Koa is quickly moving to strike again.
Octavius raises his arms to guard himself from the next attacks, and the defense works, Koa's punches glancing off his forearms rather than his stomach and head. His stance has automatically shifted into one better suited for hand-to-hand combat, arms tucked in front, head lowered, feet placed in a staggered position. He can't help the pleased, mischievous grin that appears on his face in response to Koa's explosion of attacks. He got what he wanted, after all.
After a moment of waiting, Octavius moves forward with an attack of his own, a hooked strike into the side of Koa's torso. It connects, to Octavius' satisfaction, and his grin only widens as he shifts backwards again, moving lightly on his toes.
"So the little dog does have some bite behind his bark, does he?" It's out of character for him to be so blatantly condescending, but there is pleasure in seeing the immediate effect his words have on the young Dragoon. Besides, he's enjoying himself far too much to stop now.
