MELITA
She had entered the forest unsure what it was she wanted; hungry, desperate for something un-named, desiring the place without a reason. The girls lithe legs stepped carefully over roots and piles of sodden leaves covered in snow as she looked for a purpose, both deep within and among the trees. Maybe she simply wanted to be in nature, after the Blight had nearly ripped it from them all with it's violent and hungry reach.

It was in her mind to hunt, still, though - nature could be purposeful as well as beautiful. Bow drawn and body still, Melita waited patiently for a sign, a noise, some indication of life in the Greatwood beyond herself. Perhaps the call of a bird, sweet and soft, or the footfalls of a Luxere (not that she knew she had the tenacity to kill such a beast). Fangorn crouched quiet next to her, a mimicry of her own position.

Every so often, she heard a noise unlike any she knew to listen for. A stepping, almost, but one that sounded not quite humand not quite animal; something inbetween, feral, a beast with a chance at redemption. No matter how carefully she turned, it seemed nothing would show itself to her. A secretive creature. Well, she could wait.

When she was so alert, heightened senses picking out the woods like she was now, a bright eyed predator - it was instinct to turn as soon as she heard the crunch in the snow behind her. Bow drawn, string taunt, arrow ready to fire and pierce flesh, kill, end the flame of life so she could sustain hers -- but oh, not a woodland creature. Amalia. The girl lowered her bow, the weapon disappearing as her bracelet's magic worked.

"Oh, hello." She greeted, lifted herself up on her knees. No longer a beast in the woods, just for now. "Can you hear it too? That strange noise?" Perhaps it was good to check not only she alone could hear it. That it was not an illusion, a dream of the forest.
