He purses his lips briefly as his brows furrow and he stares at a particularly leaning cupboard door, his free hand reaching up to rub against his neck where Ascended bite scars had once been and healed with Nate’s metal device into disappearance. “Maybe you should go first.” Because gods knew he wasn’t trying to fuck it up more, and his thoughts were too jumbled, wanting to swallow each and every one of them down.
