Ronin knew that the bodies were gone by the time LongNight was over. It was something he'd overheard in the Rathskeller and it had been playing on his mind ever since. He didn't know what he would find when he got back to the guildhall, and as much as he tried to keep from thinking the worst... well. It was too easy to do, especially with his state of mind. Aoife was in Vai's very capable hands and the Sanctuary was lit by the Spark Bird's fiery light, so Ronin took himself out for a walk. He didn't have any particular destination in mind, so he simply wandered. It was on this wander that he realised that the bodies of the dead weren't taken away in the places where there was too much light for the monsters to creep. It was how he found The coyote soldier had been savaged by something, it looked like - or multiple somethings - and half eaten before the Spark Bird had arrived. It was a tragedy only because if the damned creature had been but a few minutes earlier, Dodge might have lived. Ronin stood over his body, a pained expression on his face, but there were no more tears to cry, not for him. "I'm sorry," he whispered, staying with him for a few minutes before setting off to find something to carry him out of the street and say goodbye properly.
