Alys knew nothing of deserts, or sicknesses, or leviathans. As it turned out, she knew very little at all, particularly of the wide variety of landscapes around Caido. All she really knew for certain was that she'd grown used to Halo and its chill, and to be thrust out of that into somewhere hot and humid was unpleasant in a way she had not anticipated. She hadn't thought herself so acclimatized, but being in the Climb had convinced her that Halo was well and truly home.
As Deimos shifted and sifted rock and rubble with his magic, Alys began to chip away at the cavern walls with her pickaxe. It was hard work - harder than she had expected - and she realized quickly that she would have to put a great deal of effort in for any fruits of her labor to be revealed. "Nothing yet," she all but grunted in response to Deimos. "Do you know what we're looking for? Any tips or tricks?"
