Alys had spoken without really thinking, but it had come from a place of good intentions. Still, when Deimos quickly offered a rebuttal, she wondered if she was perhaps being chastised in some way. "I suppose not," she murmured. She chewed on her lip. "It just seems - I mean, how do they even function, without leadership?" Her own knowledge of such things was limited, at best, but it still seemed to her that having at least one leader should be the bare minimum for any land. Who made their decisions? Who made trade agreements? Who steered them towards success? It perplexed her.
