Deimos took a moment to entertain Belial, leaving Alys to her own devices. She watched the peryton for a brief moment before turning her attention back to the rock and stone around them. When Deimos spoke again, it was with a certain... what was the word she was looking for? Sadness? Regret? She couldn't seem to find something that fit. Not for the first time, Alys was reminded just how little she knew about Deimos and his past.
But it was really none of her business, and she wasn't the type to pry, so she just hummed in agreement and continued to walk. Then she offered a half-smile. "Halo's people don't seem to be the type to be easily controlled." It was one of the things she liked about the region. There was a certain freedom about the tundra that had appealed to her the longer she stayed, and she felt the same way even now.
