Only when his fangs glint on one of the stones did he relent with a grimace to his deer features – trotting off with a disgruntled expression, for they hadn’t been treats. The Sword shook his head, assuaging the efforts with another of the token bits of jerky from his pocket.
While mending the disappointed airs from his companion, kneeling and crouching by the little beast, he still listened to Alys’s claims of favored areas. Halo could be harsh and unrelenting at times, but had so many other aspiring things to coincide with the rough and feral wakes – and those who lived and breathed in its threshold had long since learned to appreciate those idle and peaceful instances. “That is one of my favorites too,” and he grinned, for the Sea of Glass brought forth other memories. “The Greenwing is nice as well.”
