Had Alys known how Deimos had come to the position, she likely would have admired him all the more for his willingness to serve despite not really wanting to. It had to take a special kind of person to offer themselves in such a way to the masses. What had Deimos given up in order to succeed as a leader? Were there things that he missed, things that he could no longer do? It occurred to her that she had rarely seen him outside of Halo, and wondered if it was endless duties that kept him in the frigid region. Did he ever want the freedom to travel the world? It was strange, to think of someone like Deimos as anything but free, but then, as a ruler, he was tied to his land and his responsibilities.
Alys nodded along as Deimos admitted that the Sea of Glass was one of his favorites, too. She hadn't yet been to the Greenwing, though, and there were other places she'd yet to see as well. The Fangs, the Frostfields... even within the Citadel, she'd yet to properly explore the Palace outside of the Academy and, on occasion, the barracks. But all she said was, "I bet it's quite different from the rest of Halo. I'll have to visit soon."
