With the noise of his work he didn't hear his friend's approach until her voice lilted through the rhythmic strikes of his hammer. The mermanta paused his work and turned his head, a small smile lightening his usually stoic features and making him look five years younger. "Evie," he greeted warmly. "I am making an armlet. A quest for Safrin."
