this is who we were
Deimos had seen large, imposing monsters. The fact that the largest ursur didn’t send terror through his heart was probably due to a number of horrendous encounters; so much so that he knew they’d likely have to leave it for last – if they could.

But the bears were rightfully disturbed by the commotion and pain, immediately setting their sights upon the wall. Such as it was, it was a notable thought of Sah’s to continue expanding the threshold, permitting the hunters a greater position over the leagues of vicious ursur.

And so they turned, limping and mighty or ferocious and menacing, rushing towards the sanction as more assaults and sieges poured down upon them. Noah and his fleet of arrows struck the third once more, and it lurched in its steps, roaring furiously, tripping in the snow. It didn’t cease it entirely, but much like the luxere before them, the men would be able to tell that these void-inflicted species didn’t understand pain thresholds or limitations.

The Sword mustered his ice shards again too, raining them down upon the first ursur. It crashed into the barrier and its spikes, and between the wounds, and the piercing maelstrom, the bear remained stuck in its haste, trapped and snared.

While their brethren suffered, the other two took to the rocks. They wouldn’t be able to scale them, not at the moment, but they bashed into the sector, causing the precipice to shake violently. It wouldn’t be able to take too many more hits, not unless something was strengthened. Luckily for the hunting party, none of them lost their footing.

Noah has hit Ursur Three.

Deimos has hit Ursur One and it’s currently stuck on one of the wall’s spikes.

Ursur Two and Ursur Three have bashed into the wall. Unless the wall is strengthened, it may not hold for two more hits.

Eira continued her searching in the skies, assessing deep over the tundra to make sure no other predator was stirred by the wounds coming from the ursur trio.

Noah was a harbinger of VI’s vengeance as the bears came raging towards them. His arrows sunk, and he fired again. His glacier eyes narrowed some on the pulsating void ursurs as they came closer and closer.

He felt the ground shake as two of the bears, including the largest of them, slammed into the shielded outcropping. Noah did not waste any time in igniting the Divine Opposition so strongly ordained by his deity. The dome glittered — offering strength for his friends and wrath for his enemies.  



Noah shoots at ursur 3 and after the ursur hit the rocks he ignites divine opposition.

Magic: Divine Opposition | Noah summons a celestial shield dome in a 60ft radius. Any allies within the shield receive Mastered Healing, and any enemies are damaged at a Mastered level. May be used 3x per thread with a two post cool down.

The ursur made their charge and Sah's brow furrowed as they collided with the earthen shield. Noah swiftly targeted the third bear, so the Wild Thunder turned his attention to the first bear that had gotten stuck on one of the spikes. With it stuck, it would certainly have a challenge dodging. For a moment, Sah considered using lightning, but he didn't want to risk breaking through the wall. Fire would do nicely in terms of damage and leaving the shield intact.

Letting embers come to life in his palm, Sah created a ball of fire and threw it over the rim of the earthen wall and at the bear.

Too focused on the moments, the Sword’s trepidation didn’t return. Instead, it was the same usual calm and composure amidst moments of violence and vitriol, the sort of beckoning horizon he understood the most. All three of them reached and scoured, and he braced himself amidst the rocks, watching as a few tumbled downward, and their assaults never veered from the havoc.

With the first ursur stuck, its demise was inevitable. Between Sah’s fire and the Warden’s rampaging ice, the damage, bombardment, and onslaught was simply too much. Without much fight in it, nor health, it succumbed almost instantly to the barrage, leaving its carcass to remain firmly stuck to the spikes.

Noah’s arrows and divine opposition settled into the atmosphere, delivering blow after blow into the third bear. It roared as the pain tore and split and burdened, movements stiff, labored, and barely slinking across the tundra, but gods it wouldn’t cease.

Which meant there was still danger lurking below. The ursurs combined their strength once more and sieged upon the rocks, and more came falling, losing its stability. It would only take one more hit for the hunting party to be in full range of the remaining void creatures – and far more imminent danger.

And then, Sah slipped.

Down, down, down, catching himself halfway between safety and bears.

Sah and Deimos’ combined efforts have felled Bear One. Its carcass is just vibing.

Noah has hit Ursur Three.

The remaining ursurs have hit the wall again. It can endure one more hit before falling.

Sah has slipped due to the onslaught, and is halfway between safety and the bears.

Like a contained warzone, the three hunters and the three ursur raged against each other. Elements and celestial prowess rained down and unleashed hell on the beasts, but did not stop them all completely.

Sah slipped, and Noah only saw Erebor's face as he slid down the rocky surface rather than the once-wolf's. Panic laced every muscle for a moment and all Noah could do in response was destroy. The Forsaken sucked in a breath and his eyes began to glow with celestial energy, waves of it cascading down his body. His arms came up and he shot again at the damaged ursur, hoping to kill it before it could get to Sah.

The bears slammed against the rocks again and Noah felt the hardened earth shaking beneath his feet. He could feel Vi'dore's rising panic from behind them but the beast did his best to stay silent and to keep from running away, siphoning all self-control from Zuriel's stalwart nature.

There was a brief moment of victory as one of the bears fell dead, but it was quickly overshadowed by the sound of cracking, tumbling rocks. The earth beneath Sah gave way and he slipped, thankfully catching himself half-way down. "Fuck!" He had to act quickly.

He could try to jump back up, with no doubt, Noah and Deimos would try to help him. He could even jump down to attack the bears directly. Both were risky and it seemed best to get to higher ground above all else. Jumping had risks, so the Wild Thunder decided to climb. If he used telekinesis and air magic, he could give himself a boost too.

The mageglass at his neck warmed and Sah took off up the wall, his magic activating to assist him. "Deimos, stabilize the wall!"

Sah calls out to Deimos to stabilize the wall and uses his foothold to try and quickly climb back to the top, using air and telekinesis to help him go faster and prevent further slipping.

And then the apprehension returned. He could feel Zuriel’s questioning, Belial’s chaotic impulses, and altogether they made for a cluster of emotions the Sword had to stifle down, down, down into the abyss. Sah’s faltering across the rocks left him lurching forward, gauging machinations quickly and efficiently. He could hear the Abandoned’s outcry, and pondered if he could both assist and stabilize. Glancing at the bears below, who absolutely needed to be desecrated, he wouldn’t be the one to sacrifice his friend just for a current opportunity.

His earthen magic unfurled, stabilizing the wall once more, while providing Sah more portions to grasp and hold as he clambered upwards. Which was all well and good, considering the Wild Thunder was working on supporting himself with magic. It seemed to be useful and handy, and he was halfway to returning to their more illustrious sanction.

Noah fired once more at Ursur Three, but amidst the distractions, and subsequent wall damaging, he lost his balance and concentration. The celestial assaults veered off, and he too tripped, stumbled, and slipped, pitched forward. He’d have to be very careful in this next round, or find some more stability, or face the consequences.

The void creatures, without anyone snagging at them, were free and open to siege against the barrier again. This time only the largest had enough strength, but the ricochet could be felt all the way through the earth.

Deimos has stabilized the wall with his Mastered Earth and made more areas for Sah to use to climb back up. Sah need one more post to climb back to his original position.

Noah has missed Ursur Three and been pitched forward.

Since the wall has been further stabilized, it will now take 2 more hits before it comes crashing down.

The sound of the ursur slamming against the rocks and the pounding of his heart as Sah fell did not make this easy. But, Sah was a talented mage and, as Noah went on the offensive and Deimos on the defensive, Sah was able to get himself closer to safety and further away rfom danger. Noah went to shoot again when the bears smacked against the rock and the shaking of the ground beneath him was too much for him to stabilize immediately. He felt himself pitch forward and his stomach jumped into his throat. He tried to balance and come back.

Danger alerted behind her golden eyes in bright red flashes and the griffin dove. She sacrificed her circling and spying for protection and love. Swooping in, the griffin meant to grab Noah's coat with strong, and pull him back to safety. Eira was no little companion -- hefty at the size of a large dog -- and she was strong.

Noah moved with the companion, attempting to bring his feet back to safety before he shot again at the smaller bear.



Eira swoops in and pulls Noah back. Once stable, Noah shoots at ursur three.

Sah's plan seemed to be working and he was able to make solid progress toward rejoining the others on the top of the rocks. The Wild Thunder's eyes widened when Noah then tripped but let out a sigh of relief when Eira quickly came to her bonded's rescue. The bears were still a threat but the Abandoned refocused on his climb.

The state of the rocks made Sah call out as soon as he reached the top, "We need to either keep stabilizing this or come up with a new plan!" he could already see evidence of where the ursur's onslaught was weakening the earth and stone yet again.

Sah keeps climbing Deimos' footholds and his air+ telekinesis combo. Once he reaches the top, he suggests that they come up with a more sustainable plan.

The intensity of the moments seemed to drag on in infinite spaces; slow motion moments sprawled within the chaos. Sah climbed, Noah pitched forward, Deimos stabilized – until it was all a hazardous display of unfortunate denizens and decisions.

The Sword fought not to roll his eyes at the Thunder, unfurling more earthen incantations to stabilize while the bears rampaged below. “Willing to take ideas, but I am going to try opening the ground beneath them.” The notions contorted into more lined manners of land mannerisms, shaking and rattling the terrain below, and striving to open it up beneath the massive ursur and its compatriot. It would take some time (and likely the next round) before they could see any results.

Eira’s determination to save her companion was a stalwart and brave thing – but unfortunately, not successful. Despite her size, a beak fighting against the pull of gravity and a larger man didn’t bode well for either of them – Noah’s coat ripped, the griffin tumbled backwards, and the demigod fell forwards.

Not terribly far, but enough to gauge a brief roll down their makeshift hillside. The arrows were a fine regard for hitting the third ursur and ending it entirely, based on luck alone.

Which was an ample opportunity for the last, remaining ursur to try a different tactic – climbing, despite the spikes.

Deimos has stabilized the wall again, and tried to destabilize the earth under the ursur, but it will take some time to see the results (next round).

Noah has hit Ursur Three, and its dead on the ground. Eira, however, has failed to save Noah, and Noah is now falling down the wall.

The remaining ursur is now attempting to climb up the wall.

The wall can take 3 more hits!

While his arrows were lucky in their aim, it seemed that’s where the luck ran out. Aggravation filled Eira as Noah’s coat failed and thus she failed. The griffin screeched into the frigid tundra air as Noah tumbled forward and down. The griffin went back to the skies, pulsing worry across the bond as her bond mate fell and the bear started coming up.

For one of them to be toppled forward and off the wall, it was better that it was the one with immortality and teleportation magic.

Though Noah only knew about one of those.

So he used it, popping himself from tumbling down the mountain to reappear behind the bear and shooting two celestial star-arrows at it from behind.

Sah nodded sharply, beginning to brainstorm ways to buy Deimos the necessary time. But then Eira failed and Noah was suddenly gone. It took a heartbeat for the Abandoned to recognize it as teleportation just as the Demi-god reappeared. If the Forsaken was aiming for the back, the Wild Thunder would aim from above.

"Watch out for any ricochets, Noah!" Calling out a warning, Sah used water magic and telekinesis to create daggers of ice in the air before flicking his wrist to send them down upon the bear's head, using his telekinesis to direct them so as not to hit the Demi-god. If he were lucky, one of the daggers would get the ursur in the eye.

With more panic and chaos circulating, any suggestions were lost to the antics unfolding around them. Noah’s teleportation was a noteworthy thing, and clever, before he ended up tumbling down any further – but it also left him vulnerable on the ground.

The bear abandoned its attempts at climbing for the newfound prey, launching to stand only a few yards away from the demigod. His celestial powers fired, flashed, and then went wide, leaving them alone for the moment.

But the rest of the stalwart team strived in aid – from Sah’s warnings to ice shards, sent to demolish and decimate. Unfortunately, due to the void bear’s earlier movement, they were left to falter into the wall, leaving naught but icy spikes in their wake.

The Sword’s efforts from earlier, the earthen machinations, finally came to fruition, permitting more opportunities as the ground beneath the ursur sunk, leaving it to falter into a makeshift pit. It roared in irritation, but the pit wouldn’t hold it for long – certainly not deep enough to leave it trapped – but certainly a chance to press damage from a distance.

Fortunate – as it had been swiping at the Forsaken just as it had been falling…

Sah misses.

Deimos ensures his earth magic has placed a pit beneath the ursur, leaving it trapped for the next round.

Eira, in the skies once more, was now watching Noah. Circling lower, in case she needed to swoop in again, she kept her golden gaze on her bondmate. Meanwhile, and for the last few minutes, Vi’dore was focused on keeping his footing in all of the ruckus and demolition. Once the earth settled at the unicorn’s feet, he was able to settle down his pounding heart.

Noah’s arrows missed for the first time on the hunt and Noah’s stomach sunk. He looked right into the ursur’s pulsing purple eyes, full of violence and abhorrence, before the earth crumpled away beneath its feet. Its claws barely missed him as he pulled himself out of the way, and as the ursur sank he aimed again. Shooting two more arrows at the now-trapped bear, Noah then ignited his dome over himself and the ursur in his hole.
