From Attuned to Ascended to Ancient, Kiada Njovu-Reyes has been reborn several times throughout her short life, but her fighting spirit has never once been diminished. "Who knows, maybe we will get lucky." Remi says to the Knight, though the tilt of his chin and sideways slant to his smirk very much suggests he knows that's an outside chance. They all knew Deimos was going to be the winner of this tournament now that Sunjata had been unluckily eliminated, so really, this just felt like going through the motions.
At least they'd all agreed to have lunch before moving into this second round.
"You know this means you are leading the way into Starfall, right?" Remi asks, looking at Deimos before positioning himself between the Sword and the Knight that he might try and physically block whatever was coming even if he didn't have the action the time to engage his tethering ability.
Remi is standing on the beach and uses RESCUE to bring Ronin into the fight as his action.
Remi has not brought any of the items on his profile, save for his magical shirt and his wedding ring. (i.e., no 10% murder-dagger). His companion is not with him.

"Throughout the course of our long relationship, have I ever seemed particularly lucky to you?" Ronin wants to know, shooting a boyish grin towards his husband before letting pale draconic wings burst from his shoulders so he might take to the air.
Remi is right, of course, in his thoughts - but if they are going through the motions, they might at least try and make it entertaining for themselves and for anyone else watching. "Maybe we'll see another Tumsea!" he calls to Deimos; meanwhile, points of radiant light are already igniting around - and within him.
Unleashing his Smite and the firebolts with an effort of will, Ronin sends them burning towards the Sword. He does not think he'll get lucky, however.
Ronin partially shifts his dragon wings and takes to the air behind Remi. He unleashes his Smite and three firebolts at Deimos!

Pulling his gloves back on, Deimos had already cemented in his mind the inevitable – burns being healed, burns being reopened, and the endless process of returning to the infirmary tent for the duration of this siege. With Ronin and Remi already there, situated for another onslaught between the three of them, the Sword snorted at the Bastion’s implication. “No, thank you.” While he might have been successful here, in four rounds, that might not amount to much out there in the field – and lacking the fundamentals of immortality. Besides, didn’t they usually have someone more foolish ready to gallivant headlong into danger? Or had that always been them the entire time? “You mean to tell me no one else has volunteered?” With the hint of a grin – saved for Ronin’s Tumsea comment too.
Regardless, the assured measures surged – and while he attempted to dodge and maneuver, the first beam of light struck at his left shoulder, and he hissed back another onslaught of pain. The second he at least managed to evade, and while Ronin batted about, he opted to cover most of the ground with his Mastered Fire.
A sweeping tirade of infernos gathered within him and he flickered them outward to both demigods.

Deimos arrives and stands on the beach. He has everything on his profile except companions. He sends a wave of Mastered Fire towards Ronin and Remi.

Grinning, because what else is there to do when facing down Deimos and his gloves, the Bastion just beams. "Well, I will happily go, but Ronin says I can't. Maybe if I can borrow your gloves?" Waggling his eyebrows, Remi doesn't look over his shoulder toward Ronin, more than able to feel his husband's mind well enough through the attuned bond.
Then there's a wave of unavoidable fire, and...yeah. They're all going to be seeing Isla pretty soon.
Unable to dodge out of the way, not that he really tries given his track record, Remi opts for the only thing that had realistically worked against Sunjata. Pulling in a breath, the Bastion sends a wave of spiritual force at the Sword, aiming to try and knock his soul from his body and render him at least momentarily ineffective. If this works, take his gloves Remi thinks to his husband, knowing full well that Deimos could hear as well.
Remi uses soulstrike to try and knock Deimos' soul from his body and tells Ronin to take the Sword's gloves if it works.

"I'll tell you what I told him," Ronin calls to both Deimos and Remi. "We either all volunteer, or no one does." That way at least they can all be stupid work as a team against whatever happens at the stupid purple island.
Oh, but then they're covered in fire, and you know what, Ronin was wondering when he was going to see the fourth element out of Deimos's repertoire. He can say he's collected his stickers for the tournament now, at least.
But as Remi's voice slides into his mind, the Knight refocuses. Got it, he confirms, waiting for the inevitable when he needs to pull out another trick rather than the Bastion's original plan.
Only...
Deimos goes down.
"Shut up," Ronin blurts, already descending upon the Sword's prone form to relieve him of his excellent gloves. "That... shut up."
Promptly rocketing back into the sky once he's done, Ronin - of course - puts on said gloves if he has the chance.
Ronin does as he's told and takes Deimos's Gambler's Gloves, before heading skywards again! If he's got the time, he's also absolutely going to put them on.

There was normalcy; the banter, the confusion, the sudden inclusion about volunteering being another group effort – and then the sudden plan warring against him, heard –
And then nothing to be done.
The sudden onslaught of terror shirking down his spine wasn’t something he’d had to express in a great long while – and only because he really wasn’t certain what was happening. His body was on the ground. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t do anything as Ronin plucked whatever chance had been on his hands deftly on his own, and he could only remain still as stone while the emotions rushed and rambled through him. What is happening? he asked, striving not to panic, trying not to bring the tidal wave of apprehension clustered and coiled around him.

Deimos tries not to freak out (incapacitated for this round).
Watching as Deimos's spirit was parted from his body gave the Bastion some small sense of satisfaction given what an incredible opponent he'd been both in this fight and in Ronin's, until he saw the confusion on the other man's normally steadfast fast. "Oh, sorry. I never thought to explain." The only other ally he'd used this ability on had been Finn, and gods, that had required a whole other sort of explanation.
"You're out of your body. You'll go back in in just a minute."
In preparation for such an event, the Bastion hitched forward, allowing his limbs to grow long and sleek as he shifted into his Pixiu form. Not as large as he once was as a manticore, he was more than large enough to try and take a swipe with his claws towards Deimos.
Remi shifts into a pixiu and takes a swipe at Deimos.

Explanations are given and husbands become winged lions, and Ronin hovers overhead on draconic wings to watch Deimos regain his body and get back in the fight.
"Sorry," he calls - mainly of the theft, because as the Knight has already said to Remi once today, has he ever seemed the lucky type? "I'll buy you a drink after this. And give these back, obviously!"
Still, there's only one thing for it now but to try things out, and so with three more firebolts bursting to life around him, Ronin braces and releases them all at once towards the Sword on the ground.
