FINN
Set directly after heart shaped boxes
Finn does not know what time it is. The curtains in his room at the inn are drawn and the patter of rain drowns out all other ambient noise from the open window. It’s cold. He doesn’t notice.
The lanterns are all lit, lending an eerie light to the room, and he sits at the end of the bed, facing the full length mirror hanging on the back of a wardrobe. Finn stares back at Finn, blaming, accusing. He swallows.
With shaking hands, he takes his spectacles from the side of the bed, closing his eyes as he slips them on. He doesn’t want to look. He doesn’t want to see.
But he has to. Cian has already told him that once already, and he can’t get away from it now any less than he was able to them.
So stormy eyes blink open, slowly, settling on his reflection in the mirror.
Breath hitches. A knot forms in his stomach. His cheeks are wet.
”Gods damn it all,” he whispers.
