Squinting unattractively against the sun until the man's shadow is cast blessedly upon him, Bart thunks his head back into the dirt with a groan. Nevertheless he gratefully takes the man's hand, and though standing is more of a shuffling, wincing affair as he extricates himself from the bush, at least he can look at his dubious savior eye-to-eye in the end.

Swiping the blood away with one hand and then eyeing his bloody palm for a long moment, Bart wipes it off on his boxers with a grimace. "Do those rat bastards around here hunt in packs normally, or is my luck just - that bad?" Biting back the word 'shit' because he's pretty foul-mouthed, but he can put on a nice face for the guy who saw fit to help him out.
