So this was the human version of the Bodega, was it? Jiao stood in the corner of the markets, looking the stalls over with crossed arms. Wearing a hood and a long dress, she was hoping to be a little more subtle today (though while they were dark, the fabric she had chosen still contained small embroidered patterns in a shining purple) despite the wings coming from her back.
It was a shame, she thought, that these people were so boring. There was really a lot of skill in the market, but so much of it was devoted to very basic needs or simple, functional items; things made for a town surviving and not living. She was sure her own wares would be seen as extravagence here, could see why the people she had met so far had been so plainly dressed.
She so badly wanted to see any joy in this place, some frivolity, some entertainment. They had to have fun sometimes, right?
With a disappointed sigh, she floated down to sit on a barrel by the wall and watch the crowds go by, her wings catching the light and reflecting rainbow patterns on the wall behind her.
