So Beatrix did the only thing she knew to do – she fought, limbs flailing wildly, desperate to keep herself afloat, breath coming in short gasps. The man who had called out to her was all but forgotten in those moments. But then she was grabbed from behind, her shirt tugged by the man’s hand. Stranger danger was written all over this but she figured she was better off fighting a strange man than drowning. She reached back, desperate to grab onto her savior, little fingers gaining purchase on the rope.
