Sam had shown up early to the event. Normally, nights focused on socialising were nightmarish ideas to him, but he hoped one ran by Jigano, who was more than aware of his neurological difficulities, may prove itself easier to navigate. He sat near the head of the table (but did not presume to sit next to Jigano, assuming that space was to be left for some mysterious, more important person) and listened with a faint smile to the speech, clutching a warm cup of tea close to his chest.
