The world was changing yet again, but in the midst of it all people still needed to eat, to drink, to sleep, to protect themselves from the weather, and do all those little things that made life keep ticking. Amidst the rise and fall of barriers and tyrants, of gods and Gods, of meeting new cultures and clashing with them in the same breath, the basic necessities continued to be needed. Beyond that, though, were those things that were less necessary in the short term, but still important in the long term. And the activities pursuing such projects might hide more than they seemed from the outside.

One project in particular had been much on Jigano's mind of late, and so he had made his way to the Artisan's Guild to take a curious wander through the wares on display, seeking artisans of particular skills - carpenters, stonemasons, ironmongers - but finding instead...

Are.

It had been quite some time since he'd seen the belligerent cobbler, but the man seemed to doing well for himself, with a table full of wares in all the varying shades of leather that ranged from brown to more brown. Jigano could at last appreciate the man's skill with his own eyes, and he paused to examine a belt, a wry smile quirking the corner of his mouth. He wasn't sure if Are had made the improvements had had promised to prove in their last awkward conversation, but perhaps he wasn't giving the man enough credit. Certainly he had been working hard at his craft, and that mattered more than a devotion to simple violence!

"Greetings, son of Jorm," he said courteously, stepping fully around to the front of the table. "I'm looking for a waterproofed leather satchel, about this big--" he measured with his hands, "--with a number of pockets for writing utensils and ink, and enough space in the main pouch for a journal. Do you have anything like that?"
