Are's words of a network of connections with the naturals eased some of his concern over the lingering tensions between the native folk and outlanders, though. If the local farmers were really upset with outlanders - and with those who had supported Roana during the siege of the Spire - they would have been sending their beasts to local leatherworkers, like Rory, for processing. If they were cozy enough with Are to give him dibs on such rare materials, then it boded well for the healing process between the two peoples.
