Melita ran quickly and lightly over the rubble, careful steps barely shifting the precarious pile until she found a firm place to stand begin unloading the fall of stone and timber from above. It was a slower fix, but a steady one, and her nimble courage inspired several others to move forward and begin forming a human chain to shift the chunks of debris she passed on down the line. Occasionally smaller stones rattled into cracks further down as the weight above began to lessen, but every little bit helped, especially with what the others were doing.

Rory and Caiside may not have intended to work together, but their efforts complimented each other. The hunter's lever managed to raise a thick slab of stone a few inches, while the smith dragged smaller and mid-sized stones out of the way, opening a path for one of the trapped workers to crawl out, bruised and battered but not too much worse for wear. Jigano looked to his three friends with a wry smile before taking a deep breath and sliding his lean frame under the rubble they were supporting or clearing, eeling under the tumble of debris until he could grab on to scraped fingers that closed back around his own. He tugged, earning a grunt from the woman, but she bit back any complaint is he awkwardly wriggled backwards, towing her to safety.

The two injured workers were escorted to the Infirmary by a pair of their friends, both able to walk, though one of them might have cracked a few ribs. As the rest stood around, looking at the shifted pile and each other, it became obvious that their work so far that day had made considerable inroads in clearing the rubble and repositioning it so that they would be able to reach the hole in the wall soon.

"Let's all take a break," Jigano called out, nodding to the sweaty faces of friends and neighbors with a grateful smile. "Another big push this afternoon, and we should have things well-sorted out to start the patching, once the wood arrives. Thank you all again for your help today. The Loreseekers couldn't do this without you, and hopefully this will provide better shelter and protection for your histories - and the people who come here to read them! - for many years to come."

This completes part 1 of the Atheneum repair PQ! Thank you all very much for participating, and stay tuned for part 2, if you want to help raise the wooden patch to keep the weather out!
