With eyes that couldn’t see quite as well as the Ascended’s in the dark, Rexanna noticed the other man a bit later than Lucas had. In fact, she noticed him just as he approached and Lucas spoke — finding no threat to him other than his height. A silent sort, pale against the dark waters and forestry around them, hand outstretched to give Lucas something black and glittering. She raised a brow, but said nothing, instead her attention flicking back to Lucas as she settled in the grass beside him. After a few moments she shrugged her shoulders and stared at the water before looking to the sky. powerful enough to drown you,
“In all fairness you’re basically squirreled away in the daytime. Darkness is the only time I see you.” She retorted, finding it surprisingly easy to joke with him. It was almost enough to forget about what had happened before, though it still bristled on the back of her mind.
