The ambush had startled him, seeing his companions be bombarded by these soldiers. He almost didn't notice the bear lumbering up to him, but the splashing of water alerted him of her approach. In an instant he was rolling through the water and out of the way, managing to barely dodge the soldier's grasp. He surfaced and stood in time to see the first soldier shock himself after failing to capture Lucas, and the second one to grab Rexanna. Blood was roaring through his ears, adrenaline through his veins, and his usual expressionless complexion now donned a look of panic.
Why were they being arrested? They were in the woods without permission? He briefly remembered that was a law put in place in these lands, but he didn't exactly know where The Greatwood truly was. That being said, breaking a rule was breaking a rule. Should he turn himself in even if he wasn't aware of his mistake? His gaze watched as Lucas lashed out, calling forth someone... something and soon began to almost take on another form. One could see it was the man he had been previously talking to, but his voice had changed, and if one looked closely his eyes would flicker to one color back to his normal blue. Chest heaving, he placed a palm against it and felt the rapid thrum of his pounding heart. When did he start having trouble breathing? When did his hands began to shake? He didn't know what to do right because everything was overwhelming him at once.
The Voice spoke, and although he didn't recognize it, it used a tone that commanded attention, causing him to lock eyes with Lucas. Swallowing, he heard the words leave his mouth in a voice that wasn't his own, watched him turn his head in a way that could have been him, but possibly a higher power. He was in awe and also terrified, because what if something like that happened to him? Taking a staggering step forward he wished to approach the man, but he was momentarily distracted realizing their companion was in the grasp of one of the soldiers. He was tired, probably weaker than them by a long shot, but he still wanted to help his new friend.
Without much thought going into his actions Vynter lurched forward, running full speed at the soldier in hopes of barreling them into the ground.
OOC: Vynter dodges NPC 3's grasp and watches the Voice possess Lucas. He then tries to help free Rexanna by attempting to tackle NPC 2 to the ground.
