REXANNA
the penumbra
A distraction from her otherwise normal day to day, the moment she hears the words echo in her head. It sounds nothing like the Voice, nothing like anything else she’d known. But she follows it, still a slight limp in her walk, ever slowly healing as the days went on. But without the pain, it only looks as awkward as it seems. Her feet manage to take her wherever the voice has called from, and she doesn’t seem to notice until she sees the trees of the Wildwood, eyes adjusting and watching to see a woman she’d seen before that night with the blighted Siren.
Melita is there, and Remi too (hidden and away). And suddenly she wonders if they’ve been summoned because of the pumpkin that had nearly killed her. She steps up beside her red haired friend, listening as Melita asks for a bow. She can’t hear what Remi asks for, but she knows he’s there and likely asking something, too. At least, if his more recent lesson had taught her anything. She doesn’t see Sam yet, but she approaches and gives a small fanged smile to Arduinna.
It’s not like she has anything against the witch, she barely even knows anything about her.
Splaying her hands in front of her she contemplates what to ask before folding her hands behind her back and straightening her posture. “A parasol to protect me in the sunlight?” She asks with a tilt to her head before another thought hits. “Maybe a hidden weapon within, if that’s possible.” A small quiet addition, uncertain if it can even be done, but she reaches out with an elbow to nudge Melita with another small smile.
A weapon was a wonderful idea, after all. But gods how she misses the sun.
