Anything is possible: the Voice’s mantra echoes and lends itself to Wessex’s ever expanding. For now, though, she declines to ask for it, knowing full well she’s been given many gifts already. A look of consideration crosses her face as she weighs what to say or do next. There’s a fine line between ambition and greed, and knowing when to toe the line is something she’s always been iffy at. Perhaps it’s because she’s a woman, perhaps it’s from fear of admonishment or pushing her luck, or perhaps it’s because she knows that Deepfrost will prove incredibly busy and she already has a quest of sorts. Distractions would be unhelpful.
One day. Or something bigger than that. It seems like her mind has yet to determine the limits to what her powers could be.
“May I drink?” she concludes, as the Voice hadn’t opened with the offer. Wessex is ultimately somewhat unsatisfied with what she’s learned today, but neither her nor her Lady seem to have a penchant for long, confiding conversations. And she’d been shut down, more or less. So it isn’t a fear that rises in her throat, but a curiosity from a willing subject. “You wouldn’t... withhold your energy from us, right?”
That's not what mothers are supposed to do. And they are usually good children. But what if they weren't? Hypothetically speaking, of course.
