Then again, perhaps that was because he was overtop of the trees rather than among them. But no, not even Remi was naive enough to believe the Fae wouldn't claim jurisdiction of the air-streams he now traveled in. Let them say something to him about it, if they chose.
Though he knew he'd not learn anything new, still Remi flew with eyes looking to take in information about the blight. Had it risen to the top of the trees? Were there places it hadn't touched? Was there somewhere immune he could take Ronin?
Hope was something deadly these days, with Ronin's hourglass depleting with every breath. And so it wasn't with hope or baited breath that the manticore flew through the starry night, but with despair and anger.
