There was no fire to him now, just a yearning to help, to do something. But he had never been good at that. Born, bred, raised to uphold laws and justice, to become judge, jury, executioner; all he knew to do was destroy. And this was no exception.
But he takes her thought to mind, wondering if maybe he can manage somehow to do such a thing. If it would help, if it would work or if he would find himself as the disappointment again. He halfway makes to turn, dark brow rising slightly before he looks back at her and Pim. “You can go home, by the way.” He tells her quietly. “I took my things, cleaned up for you.” He adds, biting his tongue from telling her it’s safe for her to come home — that all traces of him are gone.
