As Wessex begins, the alchemist lowers his chin to his chest and closes his eyes as if that might help him better retain the information being given. Already his mind is so overloaded by everything happening that he feels he cannot contribute to this conversation in the way the two present likely need him to. Still, he pulls in a breath and tries.
"If...if the monsters are ascended of a limited kind...Jigano, did you not say that the things that make them capable of their super human feats—their upgrades—are just items? What if...Archebold, a friend and ascended has a cane. Magic does not work in its vicinity. I wonder if something like that could be made so that their abilities are muted."
Hearing Isla's name makes Remi flinch and hold his breath. While many mourned the medic last year, Remi has started to mourn her now. So much of her mind is gone that she truly can't be said to be the woman she was when she was taken, ascended or not.
As the bard mentioned their theory, Remi let his eyes open and nodded wearily. "Safrin said those who were blighted would not die, but be taken over by it. Not entirely unlike the minds of the LongNight monsters. Though I suppose monsters is not really what they are.." He murmured almost more to himself, rubbing absently above one eye.
