He pointed to the different ones in turn, starting with the ivory and argent bound snowflakes. “Thanks to Amalia’s efforts, we have vanilla and lavender,” perhaps overly fond of its presence simply because of the etching and sketching of winter along the top, before hastening to the next. “Red-velvet,” in its blooming roses and signature pale icing, “Marble,” indicating a mixture of flavors, in case someone had a particular preference, or simply none at all (craving both), and the last, gold-speckled to match the stars, the constellations, the stretch of skyline with lantern lights: “Death-by-chocolate,” uttered by the Reaper.
