KIADA
He praises her, but it doesn’t hit her the same way it might have once. Instead, there’s a cockiness within her that writhes, as if to say yes, nobody could do better than her. But she swallows down the thoughts hard, finding comfort in Ludo’s part of the performance, in the rags that draped along her shoulders, in the way Auni seemed to enjoy the presence as much as any of the rest of them. Instead, she nods.
But she pauses as she tells him that Ludo had come to her, had comforted her, had given her a mission, that she holds tight to her chest. “Nope.” She tells him bluntly, head lifting with a seriousness in her red ringed, sunken eyes as she situates the blankets again. “But I’ll tell you what I asked of them.” She admits with a decidedly predatory tilt of her head.
“I asked them if I could see Ru’in again. And they told me his soul hadn’t made it to Mort.” She says so casually, it’s unlike her. But there’s hope that brims in her chest, brims in her heart at the information. That maybe, somewhere, somehow, with Ludo’s help, she can see him again.
