She swings the staff and it stops too soon, the monster hunter holding it in his grasp. Or is he the monster, now, and they the hunters? The black of his eyes, the tears on his cheeks, the teeth that look ready to devour the world- it reminds her of Safrin, and Amalia shivers with something entirely other than cold.
"Ronin. You've looked better." Her grip on the staff tightens as he pulls, though she pushes it forward, hoping to use his own momentum to send him flying back. Mort, but she hasn't seen any roses here, and doesn't have one on her now. Perhaps the luxere antlers will have some effect on him, the way they did the Long Night monsters, but the baker does not hold on to hope.
