Ronin had anticipated crushing the frail woman beneath her own shield, and when it did, in fact, squash into the snow beneath him, a snarl of victory left his lips. Only then, of course, did he notice a small and furry thing in the corner of his vision, and the blighted king glared in earnest at the otter as it transformed back into the baker. Still, at least he had gotten one thing out of the whole situation; with the shield in his hands, Ronin slowly rose back to his feet.
