He nods in agreement to Jigano’s murmur. The sooner the blight was gone, the sooner he imagines he’ll be able to think straight. It likely won’t help, in the end, with the way his mind works, but he’s hopeful regardless. There had to be some optimism buried deep within that he could cling to, even if the rest of him darkens with every passing day, roses or not. But he remembers every split moment of rage, every time it got the best of him against his will. And he sighs quietly with the recollection, until Jigano’s voice perks up and he focuses on that instead.
There’s a shrug that’s sent the bard’s way. But he pauses when he mentions that he didn’t know that Phoebe had been working on the blight research as well, and he tilts his head lightly while he focuses on the snow laden path before them. “Yeah. She’s blighted too.” He offers, uncertain how much he can get away with speaking of her before it leads to more questions – and the pounding in his head that’s just begun is an indicator enough that it’s not exactly a road he wants to travel down tonight.
So he rolls his shoulders again, reaching up with a shaking hand to rub at his left one before he inhales lightly and thinks about what she’d told him before. “Well, it acts like tampered Ascended fluid.” He notes thoughtfully. “She got a sample from a woman named Rexanna, just to see if it reacted the same. But it didn’t explode like the blight did. It just... swallowed the cells of whatever it came in contact with, like the blight.” There’s a light pause. “We tried my blood then, for a control. But I wasn’t blighted then, and it worked as normal.” He gives Jigano a dark hum of a chuckle. “But I am now, so.”
