It was true that he hadn't actually seen Rexanna's blood, but some doubt remained that she was a good representative of what 'normal' Ascended were. Or maybe that was just his heart talking, desperately hoping that she wasn't led as far astray down that path as Sam was, enslaving herself beyond recovery to the same goddess who had spread the blight to himself and those he cared for. It wasn't the sort of thing to argue with a stranger though, so he let Sunjata's confirmation go with a nod of acknowledgment, even if it wasn't exactly agreement.

Besides, there were other questions to ask, like: "What were you attempting to cure it with?" Fascinating, to hear that the blighted blood had exploded on contact with certain things.

Terrifying, to consider what could have happened to his own internal fluids, especially when he had been running around mind-lost and feral.

'Cells' didn't make much sense at first, but the mention of little circle things they couldn't see? "Ah, nanites," he said sagely. He tilted his head as Sunjata slipped into another language, curious in spite of the blight that weighed down his soul, but the translation was enough to confirm his initial suspicion. "Small things that attack and heal within a body? I didn't expect to find them here though..." he murmured, frowning at the implications. Nanites were a thing of the fallen stars, technology so far advanced they could barely decipher how to use and somewhat repair it, not replicate it themselves.

Sunjata's glare wasn't lost on the bard, but he _had_ just tried to explain that the blight hadn't shown outward symptoms immediately with him, either. The significance of the Roses was lost on him; he had felt no urge to plant any even after the blight had started to recede. It took him a moment to decipher 'horned horse,' however, and his eyes tightened a little as he nodded. "She's a unicorn," he said quietly. "Isla." And she had not always been a unicorn, but she was no longer the soul she had been, either. "But... the cure swallowed Rexanna's blood?" he repeated, frown threatening to return as he began to shake out stakes and string he had brought and looking for a likely area to begin his assaying. "If her cure could swallow the blight as well, and stop its spread... was that before or after the explosions?" He couldn't tell if it was Sunjata's accent or the blight making his brain slow, but he was having trouble making heads or tails of the other man's explanation, and he didn't like feeling so confused over something that sounded so important.
