She can watch the shift in his smile, the almost sorrowful reminder of how terrible the recent years since arriving here had been – and she can relate, so deeply, so intimately to that very same feeling that when her offer hits the table and his smile shifts, she’s surprised. It wouldn’t be the same as what Ronin or Remi were used to, but it would be something, to continue on the necessity of the world they found themselves in. Only, hopefully less Spire Demons and LongNight monsters. One day.
