The frustration in Abasi’s voice took the summoner aback. The last thing he wanted was to push the other man farther or faster than Abasi was ready for. Loren’s faint smile slipped away and he glanced to the side. ”Sorry. You’re right. You don’t need to. But…” The Launceleyn bit his lip as his voice trailed off. ”It’s nice to hear.” He gave the other man a sheepish look as the summoner ran a hand through his hair. For most of his life, he’d been told he was weak and useless. While he wasn’t comfortable taking compliments—which made his current protest a little silly—that didn’t mean it wasn’t nice to hear them. Especially from someone he was maybe kinda sorta trying to impress. It was dumb, but there it was.Thankfully, the laughter and the acknowledging nod were definitely enough to revive Loren’s good cheer. When Abasi brought up mud in the other parts of the Manor, the summoner smiled, glad that was the only protest. ”I didn’t see anything on my way up here.” That wasn’t strictly true: there’d been quite a bit of mud on the outside, and a few pockets here and there. However, the Launceleyn was confident that he could handle that on his own, especially with his nifty new magic.
Besides, he wasn’t sure anything could drag him away from the sight of the other man stepping forward, body slick with water, clothes cling in a way that highlighted a physique that was becoming increasingly appealing to summoner. As Abasi got closer, Loren took a few steps towards the other man; the Launceleyn’s hands came to rest on Abasi’s hips for a brief moment before one came up to brush a damp lock of hair from the other man’s forehead. Then the summoner leaned forward to kiss Abasi. It was soft and gentle at first.
But hopefully it wouldn’t stay that way long.
