The area around the well is now quite small indeed, barring movement from anyone save the two giant creatures. With an inarticulate grunt, the giant's fist further grips the snake's breath. Quickly the giant beast writhes to unfurl itself from around the well, but already the light is fading from its eyes. It was never meant to guard against this sort of assault. It was meant to have help, a united front from keeping the ascended out of the portals. But it had been alone, forgotten, ignored, and now finally, tossed about like a wet towel.
As the dragon's tail reached around to snap at the giant's legs, it thrust a frustrated fist forward, slamming the head of the guardian against the stone. The inertia of this, combined with the fact that the creature had no room to maneuver its body, did indeed cause it to topple into the light. Only because it wasn't real, as soon as it touched the portal, it vanished. The snake guardian fell lifeless to the ground.
