His voice was sober, humor fading as he spoke seriously. "Never take them lightly. They can grant you blessings... but curse you, too. And each is different. I can give you some tips on what sort of offerings to leave for each them, if you'd like. It might improve your chances, though... they aren't fond of mages usually. The Old Gods show favor to the Attuned, though, and might take a kinder view of you if you approach them and ask to be closer to this world and their faith, as the Attuned generally are." Of course with Outlanders it was always a bit hit or miss, since they hadn't asked to be on Caido in the first place, but at least Oliver couldn't be blamed for the fall of the barrier and freeing the Voice.
