While Ashe retrieved the pheasant, Vai found her feet as well and checked over her bow and arrows, glancing down at her daughter and offering her a bright smile. "I always will," she said with a wink, stepping across the clearing and pausing to slip a warm arm around her daughter, kissing her hair and holding her close.
