DEIMOS
The light pooled against him, surging and imploring, a great, grand cosmos he’d never otherwise see or experience, stars and shades and constellations between nuances of the cold and glacial expanse – the notions and ruminations of another world humming into his form. He expected it to be unsettling, to be something readily defied, resisted, clockwork patterns of his distorted upheaval and revolution, but either his attuned instinct understood and or the reassurances of the celestial body settled into his chest. He could listen instead of clenching jaws and beaks and talons, ready to fight, ready for flight, a drumming of information coiling into his heart, into his chest, into his mind, gathering like breath and lungs and chilling, glacial realms he’d long since left behind.

Rae’s creature, sliding through the surface of ice and dark, emboldened depths, an eternal experience in drifting, in moving, and naught more.

The reality, the truth, the sagacity of this is not the Basin sliding through Safrin’s sad smile, and he knew, he knew, he knew, would’ve loved to have believed in its ether and essence being similar, being the same. Perhaps he was merely satisfied at seeing them, at experiencing them, the surging mountains, the mountain crag, cutting and sliding through Caido’s whims – should have fallen, should have slid, should have been something else except for the mercurial devotion of enchantments. He didn’t know what to feel – disappointment, understanding, comprehension of all the notions segmented and slashed – his eyes drifting from the goddess and to the great beyond. Trading? With who? piqued his interest more so than Amalia’s excitement over the god; to be expected, really. Who was orchestrating deals with genies? The kingdom? Something else powerful, potent? Or was he reading too much into it? A certain droning, Machiavellian hum filled his mind – pondering what they’d be exploring into next.
"who's gonna let you?"
they asked. i said
"who's gonna stop me?"
