Pim roared in victory as he flew back up into the air. For a moment he hovered, suspended weightlessly befor diving back down at the remaining monster to claw and snap at it again.
Meanwhile, Phoebe was horrified to see Sunjata sucked beneath the monster. "Jata!" she cried out, panic rising. In that moment, she felt Frey's distinct presence (though perhaps slightly muted given the circumstances) and watched as one of the beings miraculously turned to flower petals. But one remained, and Jata was still beneath it. "For you, doll, I'll even the playing field a little." Frey wouldn't completely solve her problem - they never did - but they made the burden easier to bear. Fingers still tingling from Frey's presence, she gripped the dagger tighter. She had to do something. Relying on others would only do so much. And so the midwife, despite her trepidation, charged forward, attempting to stab the mud monster where she assumed its heart would be.
