Jigano snorted softly at Harper's comment about 'backwardness,' amused and not particularly insulted. "They were locked in a barrier for three hundred years as a result of the actions of some bad apples among the magic users," he said with a slight shrug. "It caused a lot of resentment, and it's confounded by the fact that gods themselves don't much care for most of the mages, either - all going back to that big war in the past. The local gods are holding onto an old grudge that only hurts their cause, I think, but magic seems to be much more accepted in other places, at least." History in a nutshell, really, as the mage at hand focused on the touch-up work.

Infrastructure, indeed! Jigano chuckled at Harper's confidence and charm as he shifted back to examine his work. Scarring remained, and the area would be tender for a while as the new muscles and skin got used to their lot in life, but the important bits were whole and the blood loss had been mitigated, as much as Jigano was able to do so. "I already fixed one roof," he said, grinning as he stood and stretched. "I think you'll have to handle the rest!" Two, counting the farm, but since that was outside of town he was pretty sure it didn't count as far as Harper was concerned. "A circus kid, though? Acrobats and tightropes and trapezes and such?" Bards and circuses had some overlap, though circuses were rare in his neck of the woods, being reserved for more civilized areas. "Ah... yes, without magic I suppose the only way to fly would be to become Attuned," he agreed after a moment's consideration.

At the mention of lack of information, Jigano looked mock-affronted, not-quite-gasping in shock. "Clearly no one has told you of the Loreseekers then!" He looked around until he spottted a fallen log and then headed over to it, giving it a thump to make sure it was sturdy enough to support them and not currently housing anything that would protest. "That's a local guild that specializes in gathering and sharing information," he added with a smile. "And answering questions, especially for new Outlanders. Especially when it comes to some of the more dangerous flora and fauna to watch out for. Wicker Women are pretty rare here in the Hollowed Grounds, but they have a gnarled and bent appearance and their branches are somewhat entwined with the trees around them. They're carnivorous, and they can move their branches to wrap around prey and drag them close. I'd say it's a nasty way to die, starving to death against their trunks, but their sap is a potent hallucinogenic so you wouldn't even know what was happening by that point."
